aha! [Jun. 10th, 2005|05:51 pm]
Aikarin
[mood |sillysilly]
[music |reggie and the full effect - take me home, please]

Finished ahead of schedule - the Air Force Pony. More detailed pics after the person who commissioned her approves. Still need her "official name" to make a custom printed box.

Regarding custom commissions: a lot of people are asking about these. Commission status is still closed until further notice, most likely the middle or end of July. Please wait until then to submit your designs for quotes/consideration. ^_^

Also, don't forget to vote for your favorite Midsummer Pony design!

Very, VERY much liking the symbols! Impressive and quite effective. The eyes...are kind of neat and kind of creepy all at once. *nods* And that's all I can say on that. And while tinsel is EVIL, I like the way you did yours. ^_^;; (Okay, I like tinsel...right up until I have to brush/wash/style it...)

And as a completely random note - I wanna see the vote pony made into an actual custom! XD *amused by this idea*

LOL...I was thinking about that, but it's complicated. Last year, I was worried about the "theoretically impossible" designs winning. I didn't want to promise to provide something that I couldn't make (like a "so-soft pony flocked like the originals" or a "pony with hair 1000 feet long".) I guess I could have just excluded those from the voting...but I figured I could give the designer a chance to make them. ^_^

This year, I'm more concerned with people messing with the voting system. Last year, I caught one person clearly cheating and that person's entries were disqualified.

*laugh* Actually, I meant the white and red "click here to vote" pony. ^_~;; Should've made myself clearer.

And yeah, I don't know why people feel the need to mess with the votes. I mean SERIOUSLY! Where's the fun in that?

LOL! You meant the one with the check box?! *goes back to take a look at the pony* Ahh...gradient dyed hair. Mmmmmm...

On a more somber note, I disqualified one person today for tampering with the votes. It was VERY blatant. *shakes head* I'm not going to say who it is, though.

she looks excellent! How on earth you make your symbols so perfect is beyond me. I havent tried usign tinsel in my customs yet...but I imagine its harder to work with than regular hair

It's all about practice & a lot of patience. ^_^
Tinsel just makes re-rooting more tedious, since it's an extra step. You also need a delicate touch, since it can stretch & snap. If you're using Kanekalon, you need to prep it before adding tinsel. Most tinsels will melt with heat.

Good thing you mentioned that before I jumped in and started using it...

I hope you still give it a try. Tinsel can give a pony some extra "oomph". ^_^

*boggles* That waving flag is incredible! I hope someday if my design doesn't win when you're less busy I can commission a pony that looks as good as that!

Thank you! The waving flag is my favorite part of this pony. I'm glad the designer liked this idea, as opposed to a regular, flat flag.
