[music |linkin park - breaking the habit]

Last night, a magician friend invited me to the Magic Castle in Hollywood. This was my first time at the Castle, which features acts from several professional magicians. My favorite was George Tovar, who performed close-up magic. I sat in the front row, just a few feet from him, and I was truly amazed. However, there are hazards to sitting in the front. The guy to my left reached out his hand to test a prop & spilled his ENTIRE fruity drink on my skirt! Fortunately, the skirt is made of a synthetic material & didn't stain. I washed it when I returned home & you can see it hanging to dry in the background of the 1st pic below. ^_^

This is a Celtic Heart pony that I'm making for charity. I'm signing up for a MissionFish account & she will be posted on eBay with 100% of the proceeds going to the Red Cross. Watch for her auction on Sunday evening. She's made a Coconut Grove and she still smells like coconut! Yes, she was "inspired" by the prototypes which where recently spotted. The metallic wing gradients just seemed "right" on the pegasus designs. Way to go, Hasbro! ^_~
I'm thinking about changing the colors slightly on the symbol, which was adapted from the Book of Kells.

Also finished dyeing Rikku's scarf this week. The gradient dye worked better than I expected. The mixture was mostly red with a touch of burgundy. I let it set for about an hour before rinsing it out.

And here is Shady, a blue-point Himalayan cat, who was named for her shaded areas & not the rapper. We're cat-sitting for some relatives. She's 13 years old and is quite ornery. ^_~

LOL! I couldn't stop laughing for a whole minute! ^_^

I don't think I did a very good job on the cat...she took a swipe at me the other day. *inspects hand* No real damage though! ^_~

The scarf looks lovely.

And that cat does look ornery. She's even got one eyebrow slanted down with disapproval!

Thanks...I wish the colors were a little more intense, though.

You're absolutely right about the cat. She's not too friendly.

Hey, it looks just like Rikkus Scarfe ^^
And the pony looks gorgeous, though I guess that isn't unusual. Your ponies are /always/ gorgeous.

Thanks! It is supposed to be a replica of Rikku's Scarf. ^_^ I didn't make the rest of her *ahem* somewhat skimpy outfit...there's no way I would wear that!

The pegasus looks very nice! Now I just have to hold in my excitement until Hasbro brings the "real" metallic-shaded ones out. :)

Thanks for the comments. ^_^ This pony's design was based on an illustration from the ancient Book of Kells, so it is very "Celtic" indeed.

I'm not sure if it's practical to wear the scarf...it's mostly for decoration. It's so long that it reaches my ankles, even when it's looped around my neck once. *imagines tripping over scarf*
I'm planning on making a giant Harry Potter house scarf for winter wear. ^_^

I haven't seen the prototypes yet! EEEEK!! *runs to google new mlps* :D

I adore the symbol, is it glittery, or does it just look that way in the photo? Either way, I can't wait to see her finished.

GREAT job on Rikkus scarf! I love love LOVE the perfect gradient dye job!

If you look on mlptp.net - there's a thread with pictures and a discussion about the prototypes or you can search for them on eBay. I don't want to list the actual links, because there are still some open auctions.

The Celtic Heart custom has a light dusting of glitter on the purple/blue middle section. I went a bit overboard on the glitter & I removed most of it. ^_^

Thanks for the comment on Rikku's scarf. Gradient dyes are pretty tough, but I'm happy with the way it turned out.
