My mum returned home and I can finally update the site. ^_^

To the left is Shamrock Spring. She's the cousin of Noctaeterna and she was also made from a Jewel Pony. Her symbol needs some touching up...it was painted entirely freehand. Also her hoof gradients aren't finished either. I'll be writing a gradient painting tutorial in the near future. Shamrock Spring will be re-rooted with the sample of "real" MLP hair from dollyhair.com. It feels just like 3rd gen MLP hair. I also purchased some of this nylon hair for more horizontal dyeing experiments...more on this in a later post. The cost is about the same as Saran hair.

To the right is Memento. She is going to be a "dark pony" with delicate bat wings. I haven't finished designing her yet...I think her symbol is going to involve bats. ^_~

I've been working on a striped scarf for a while and I finished the last 3 stripes today. ^_^
The picture and instructions are at the link below. It's very warm and soft!

Shamrock Spring looks lovely. You must have a real steady hand to get that detail in freehand. O_o

Thank you for the comment! Yes, it takes a steady hand and a lot of patience to paint detailed symbols. Also, I have to stay away from coffee...that makes it harder to paint fine lines. ^_^

Ohh, I'm excited to see how Shamrock Spring turns out-Noctaeterna is one of my alltime favorite customs!

Hello and thanks for the comment. ^_^ I've made a custom pony from a Clydesdale (Big Brother) bait pony, but I haven't tried sculpting hair on hooves. I've seen it done before on 3rd gen ponies and it looks okay. However, I think 1st generation ponies look better with the hairy hooves! ^_^

Wonderful

This site is wonderful!
And all your ponies are just so cute. Can you make
your own ponies?

Re: Wonderful

Thank you! I make custom ponies from Hasbro's ponies. I haven't tried sculpting a pony from scratch, but I suppose it's possible.

I love your work! After finding it by accident, have decided to try my very virgin hand at creating my own customs.

I think Shamrock Spring would look totally adorable with a punkish hair cut to go with what already looks like a frisky nature. :D

Thank you! Shamrock Spring's hair is made from the nylon hair sample. Since this is the first time I used this type of hair, I wanted to go for a more "typical" pony hairstyle. I might decide on punk hair for the next pony, Memento. I love the punk cuts. ^_^
