"Happy Father's Day" to all you ponydads out there! ^_^ I'm sure my dad remembers how I spent most of my childhood...begging for ~more~ ponies, of course! ^_~

In more pony news: the Midsummer Contest voting is coming along nicely. Voting ends this upcoming Wednesday and the finalists will be announced on Saturday. There are a few close matches right now. How exciting! ^_^

I had a little bit of time this weekend to work on my projects:

The bubblegum pony was re-rooted with real 3rd gen MLP tails (except for the green, which came from a 1st gen Magic Star). Her hair is a 6 color rainbow, much like the lovely Rainbow Dash. It's about the regular length for a G1 pony.
I painted her symbol cherry red at first, but it didn't seem to coordinate with the hair, so I changed it to a pearly raspberry. It looks a little odd because of the camera angle. I did that so you could see her hair. The symbol still needs the "gumballs" and the plastic cover.
The gargoyle pony had her other wing covered in efaplast. Efaplast is not very sticky at all, so I needed to apply some glue to it. Also, I placed some wires through her head. I'm thinking about sculpting wavy curls...sort of like those found on Asian foo dogs.

Oohh, they both look great! I really love how the bubblegum pony is turning out, I'm excited to see the final product. And the wings on the gargoyl pony look great too...sculpted curls would be really neat.

Re: Ponies

Awwww...thanks! ^_^ I got the idea from a cat gargoyle sculpture that I saw in a newspaper. I thought...why not a pony?
Some other people have made gargoyle ponies, but I don't remember seeing a sitting one. And I happened to have a Bubbles custom bait that would work. That pose just seemed natural to me! ^_^

Re: Ponies

Thanks for the comment! I thought she looked rather simple, but I'm sure she will be fine after the granite-textured paint job.

Re: yum yum!

Thank you! I should be posting more pics soon. The "gumball" pieces are actually going to move around behind the plastic cover.
