[music |hawthorne heights - ohio is for lovers]

I had a little time this weekend to work on projects. Huzzah! ^__^

The bubblegum pony is complete, but I'm thinking about reworking the plastic cover. It doesn't fit perfectly. However, I'm not sure if there is a way to fix it. She looks fine on display. I've decided to name her "Sweet Nostalgia". More pics will be posted this upcoming weekend - I'll also decide whether or not to sell her then.

The gargoyle pony is also progressing nicely. I decided against the swirly hair and went for spikes (eeek!) instead. Don't worry...they're not sharp. ^_^ Also, she's getting some pretty gnarly claws. She still needs her rear claws and the granite textured paint. I'm going to add some decorative scrollwork to her stand. It's actually a box and the top opens. The pony is not going to be attached to the box.

In knitting news: I finished a wavy scarf that I've been working on for weeks. And I tinkered with the knittng section of my website. However, it is still very messy with lots of missing pics & broken links. There's no consistency to the pages either. *sigh* Here's just the link to the wavy scarf page and to my new project - socks!

LOL, the gargoyle is definitely not very scary...she's not doing a good job protecting my home. ^_~
I'll post the pic of Sweet Nostalgia in the morning. Thanks for the comment! ^_^

I really, really, really want to see the finished gargoyle. (No pressure, simply anticipation on my part.) The claws are super awesome.

I like the claws too...can't believe I almost left them out!

Adore both of them!

Oh, and a, um....newbie/ignorant question: I've never seen a seated pony before. Are they rare? ;_;

There are a couple in early gen 1, but you can usually find them on ebay. :)

Thanks for the comment! ^_^
Hasbro only made a few sitting pose ponies in the early 1980's. Bubbles (the yellow one) and Seashell (the purple-gray one) aren't that rare. You can get one for less than $10 on eBay. There is a peach-pink colored Greek one that is super rare.

Thanks! ^_^ I'm guessing your mom likes gargoyles.
I love knitting! The scarf is really soft because of the microfiber. I made it as a gift...it's going to be soooo hard to give it away!

Thank you! She's "evolving"...I wasn't planning on putting claws on her. I tried it out and it looked pretty neat, so I decided to leave them there. ^_^

Re: MLP midsummer contest

No worries...the Wild Wonders Awards will be announced Sunday, July 9th. Just need some time to look over the votes & code the page for the winners.

Thanks! I plan on using acrylic paint that has gritty bits in it...I don't like the gray color, so I'm thinking of adding more acrylic in a darker color and maybe some sparkly bits. Not sure how well it's going to hold up...it's an experiment. ^_^
