The dark merpony, Aikarin's Violet Enchantress, (Violet for short) is finished.
Pics on her page:

Didn't turn out the way I expected, but I've grown to love her. ^_^
I also updated the Custom Ponies for Sale page. I'm in no hurry to sell these...it's nice to have a few customs gracing my display shelves for a change. ^_~

Also got a few projects of my own in the works, including another merpony, a goat, and a paint marker test pony. More details soon! ^_^
Other things in the works: eye painting tutorial, pony legal information page, and I've been toying with the idea of a board/gallery where other pony customizers can share & sell their customs.

She's beautiful. Her hair pick reminds me of LuLu's hair picks in FFX and the coloring makes me think of WoW.

Heh, I'm such a game geek right now. ^_^

Thanks for the comment! ^_^ I remember Lulu from FFX...yes, she had similar hairpicks and dark hair too. Some Lulu inspiration must have snuck into my project...I love that character! ^_^

I really like what you did with her fins. They look ribbony and fun.

Lovely work, as per usual, particularly her hair and the flairs of the fin (they remind me so much of an Iris)but the way the tail tapers so suddenly off her rump looks rather awkward. Your Aquarella mer-pony has a more natural and gradual look to her tail, which is much closer to how one would imagine these things would look. Is there a structural soundness reasoning behind this sculpted 'booty' look?

Thanks for the comment. LOL! I actually thought of the same thing when I was halfway through sculpting her. The metal tail frame is actually wired into holes drilled into the pony's body. So, it's very secure. However, I think it increased the bulk of the metal frame and that, in turn, increased the bulk of the tail. I should have made the frame about 15% smaller to compensate for that. She doesn't look THAT "bootylicious" in real life, so I think the camera angles also added a few pounds. ^_~ Some people DO prefer their merponies a little more full-figured. ^_^

I'm working on another merpony that is more slender. This one will be similar to Aquarella. Also, I removed more of the pony's original body when making Aquarella. You're right...it does make the merpony more fragile and more likely to be damaged where the tail joins the body.
