Quite happy to have some time to customize this week. ^_^

This custom is quite special because she has glow-in-the-dark stripes in her mane. I tried dyeing the hair yellow, but that didn't work out. Even with pure acid dyes & heat. I heard it takes the color purple well. Strange. I posted over at MLP Arena...no one else reported success with dyeing glowing hair yellow or green. Her eyes will be painted orange with a light orange stripe.

This pony is the Sugarberry pose pony. She received many coats of pale cream paint. I just started the appaloosa pattern...there is still a long way to go! Her hooves are striped, just like real appaloosa horses. ^_^ However, I think the striping pattern looks a bit artificial, so I'll add more layers to give it a random look. Her eyes are going to be dark brown. She will have "white" markings on her back legs.

I keep wondering if your troubles with the dye have something to do with the color being so close to that of the glow. I have no idea why that would be-we're not seeing the wavelength because what is already there is so close?-but it doesn't make sense that it doesn't dye for you at all and did for Tina.

I'm not sure what's causing it, but Tina didn't know either. The hair is white when it is not glowing.

I agree with Firebyrd. Perhaps dying the GITD hair has something to do with its colour, or maybe the hair has some special type of coating that may repel the dye? Maybe if you were to let the hair sit to glow in the dark and then fade out it might be a little more sustainable to the dye, but it's just a hunch. (and a long one at that, lol) I would try asking Tina for advice if she’s had good experience with it.

I love the different stripes of colour in her hair. It reminds me a lot of a custom that I'm working on, who's mane has similar colours. I'll have to tinker with her design a bit more, lol.

Not sure what's causing it. I tried washing the hair & even different brands/types of dyes. Tina had success with purple dye, but not yellow or green.

Thanks for the comment about the hair colors. They do look nice together. Good luck with your custom! ^_^

Thanks for the comment. I posted another picture today. She still needs many more layers of paint. ^_^
