hey, did I just see a cactuar? [Nov. 21st, 2004|05:43 pm]

Spent some time this afternoon working on a miniature cactuar plushie for the Lobeira custom. It's sooooo cute in real life! Made of real plush fabric in a nice green color. The hardest part about this custom was turning it after sewing. All those little bent limbs. ^_^

Baby Ember poses with some prototype cactuars. Ugh...I forgot about the nap on that one & had to re-do it.

Fizzy's pose is the same as Lobeira's. The little cactuar is stuffed with polyfill. *huggles cactuar*

Here, you can see the wire buckle on the bag. The bag is made of ultrasuede. Advantages: no worries about the edges fraying, feels wonderfully smooth. Disadvantages: very tough to sew. You'll need sharp needles. Expensive.

On the knitting front...I had to re-start the Palm Cozy project. It was too wide. Also I dropped a few stitches and I couldn't find them because of the fuzziness. This time, I casted on 30 stitches on the DPNs & it seems to be the perfect width. Hope it works.
