New knitting project. Made a special trip to Wally World to satisfy my yarn craving. Don't know how long I spent looking at their yarn. *sighs*
Almost bought another skein of multi-colored eyelash yarn & multi-colored chenille yarn, but I stopped myself. I love the multi-colored yarn, but the end results are...a little too much.
I ended up buying only two skeins...Caron Simply Soft Seasons 95% acrylic yarn in Cranberry with 5% gold colored metallic wrap and Bernat Eye Lash in Blink (I think they mean white, LOL). I already have Fun Fur and Boa yarn in white, but I like the silkiness of the Bernat Eyelash. This is going to be a tiny holiday handbag for my mom.
Slightly different technique than my palm cozy. I'm going to cast on 42 stitches on my blue DPNs starting with the eye lash yarn. It will probably take about 4 rows to get a nice fuzzy fringe. Then, I'm going to change to the Cranberry yarn and slowly increase up to 60 stitches. Then, a quick decrease to get a somewhat flat bottom. The goal will be roughly a pear shape. Hope I still remember how to do that! :P This bag will have a drawstring near the top, secured by a large wooden bead. Jingle bells will be at the end of the drawstring. And a braided handle made of the Cranberry yarn, attached from the inside.
Here's a bag mod that I have planned. This one is a Hillard & Hanson (from Mervyn's?). It measures approximately 7" x 7". It has silly looking faux leather handles (that I removed with a sharp x-acto knife). The base fabric is really nice, though. It looks like textured silk, with subtle vertical slubs, although I'm sure it's NOT silk, LOL. I'm going to give this little bag a new look be adding a furry rim, of course. ;) Just need to get some MORE eyelash yarn!! A silky ribbon handle would look nice.
About ponies...the mystery pony is done. Now, just waiting for payment/shipping/gift giving before the page is linked to the rest of the site. So cute!! :D
Also finished Lady Rosalind, the cameo pony. Her page is here:
Also, continuing to work on a few commissioned projects: Lobeira & Baby Fizzy. I've started on another pony of my own...this one is an evolving project. I have no idea what it will look like. There's always the danger of going overboard...
