Decal tutorial! ^_^ [Jul. 17th, 2005|11:43 pm]

Finally finished the decal tutorial! Hope you guys find it useful. This is a super quick & easy way to make a custom, especially if you lack painting skills. ^_^
It uses store-bought water slide decals. They sell for around $3-4 in most craft shops. The combinations are endless!

I also finished the mysterious baby pony...her name is "Baby Tranquility". Her design is based off Tranquil Summer, the teal colored pony I made as the sample for the Midsummer contest. I'll try to get the pictures sometime this week. I'm still deciding what to do with her. She's so cute - makes me want to keep her! ^_^

Re: decal tutorial

I just used some sealer that I had from a few years ago...it's been so long that it's not in stores anymore. =(
I heard that a lot of people had success with the "Mod Podge" brand. This is widely available. They make different types, you might want to get the one with the Matte finish. Remember: lots of light coats are better than one thick one. The sealers are usually "runnier" than paint and will drip if you apply them too thickly.
