Finally got around to taking the pictures of Baby Tranquility. Click on her icon for more pictures: Oh, BTW, she's also on eBay. --> Baby Tranquility's Auction <--
Baby Tranquility took many, many hours to make. Numerous steps went into her creation. I'm reluctant to part with her, hence the higher starting bid on eBay. Also, other customs have been selling for ridiculously low prices lately. Summer is always a slow season for pony sales. I'm not taking a chance...I'd rather keep her or re-list her. Too much work went into this one!
Also picked up an old hobby - origami. I saw some people posting paper stars on the craftgrrl community. Perfect for some fancy clear bottles I got recently. It inspired me to buy two packs of origami papers on eBay. When I was a kid, origami was one of my favorite hobbies. ^_^
The paper is from Korea. The one on the left is for paper roses. The origami paper is SCENTED! It smells lovely. The squares were smaller than I expected - just a bit under 5" on each side. The package on the right contains pastel colored vellum strips for making mini stars.
Here are a few that I started on. They are VERY small. Each one measures about 1/2 inch. Hmmmm...one looks a little crooked. ^_~ The legend says you need to make 1000 of them to get a wish granted. No, I'm not planning to make that many!
It doesn't take long to make 1000 stars, trust me. Those get so addictive so fast, and then you end up with a house full of them. My sister and I have been making them on and off for a few years now. They are darling.
The stars are very easy to make. I think it's possible to cut your own paper, some people use scrap paper or even advertising flyers. The roses are a real pain. In my latest post, I put a link to a website with the instructions...they are tricky. But the results are pretty neat!
I went through a star making phase. I think I got about 5,000 and then got bored... Though I did get to make a few that were mere millimeters in diameter. Those were nice and meditative.
Cute pony! My question is, how do you have any 3G baby ponies to mess with? I've only seen them sold with the playsets, so where are you getting your bait babies from? (I just want a baby pony without the playset. *grins*)
Wow...just a few millimeters? Those are some tiny stars! ^_^
Target has the so-called "exclusive" baby ponies - Butter Drop and Penny Candy - they are sold separately. They are usually stocked near the registers, with the candy & other impulse buys. They were $4 each. Here's a link to some pictures I took: Butter Drop and Penny Candy
Baby Tranquility is actually made from an extra "free baby pony" that came with a super-long haired pony. I bought that one a long time ago.
My bf would if he had the chance. He LOVES Minty. I've given him the second edition that came with the ice skating POny, wingy Minty, and the McDonald's Pony (although he himself bought them ~_^). Plus the Minty keychain, which is on his work bag. And he bought himself her Tiny Tin. She resides next to Jabba the Hut.
