Morbid Delusions hair looks GORGEOUS! You should make dyed hair like that and sell it to custom makers, seems a great way to take in a little extra cash.
Thank you! I love the way the dyed hair turned out. Hmmm...the dyed hair takes a lot of effort to make...I'd have to sell it for quite a bit. Not sure if customizers would pay that much for it! ^_^
Ohhh ok then. Well perhaps in the future you would be willing to let me comission hair from you? Lol that sounds so funny to comission hair. I don't have any projects going on at the moment though-everything is on pause for a bit until I get a steady cash flow, lol.
The orange hair looks beautiful. I look forwards to seeing the final products ^_^
Btw, I'm a british fan, so I don't suppose you have any advise on where I can find MLP's to begin customising?
Hi! Thanks for the comment. ^_^
Original custom bait ponies are getting harder to find. Maybe you can find some from another collector in the UK, since international postage is quite expensive. A lot of customizers use the new style ponies...you can find these at toy stores. I know they sell them in Europe. Good luck!

amazing, you have real talent. i love them all. those zebra ponies are going to rock. i think delicious is going to look the best, thats my favorite pose for the G3. nice work. love the updates.

Thanks. ^_^ I love that G3 pose as well...I think her designer did a great job with the colors too. ^_^
I'd love to see pictures of the sculpted bits pre-painting, just to get a full feel for the complete transformation beneath your practiced hands.
I am LOVING Delicious's hair. And Morbid Delusions' dyed hair looks like it's going to be cool too, though orange isn't my favorite end of the spectrum.
Er, are the zebras going to actually be striped? Or is it just those little color points and a Cutie Mark? (Can I just add that saying that term always makes me feel like a complete tool?)

how can you not like orange. Also come on those ponies are not done yet, the zebras will be striped. think before you write. peace
*blinks* Wow, I didn't mean any offense to Aikarin at all. I just said that personally orange isn't my favorite color. The dyed hair still looks great.
And the zebras --I didn't know if the entire bodies were going to be striped or if their Cutie Marks were going to be a nice small section of stripes.
Aikarin, sorry if I offended you at all with my comments/questions, as this poster seems concerned I have.

you need to chill

No offense taken. I'm not a big fan of orange either, but the yellow/orange color scheme does look neat! ^_^
The zebras are going to be striped. If you go to the Custom Workshop
, you can find the concept sketches. I think your question is valid...a zebra pony can have colorpoints and a zebra as a "cutie mark", instead of stripes all over.
Thanks for the comments. ^_^
No prob. You know I love your work. *grins*
Speaking of which, a friend alerted me to this gallery showing
of artistic designs on 18 inch pony sculptures. Here's someone's own rendition
of the project. Thought you might be interested. ^_^

Thanks for the message. I did hear about the gallery showing a few months ago...I got one of those white Pony Project ponies from the San Diego Comic Con. Someone from mlptp.net posted the exhibits...the designs are quite interesting & very unique. ^_^

I love orange.

LOL! Orange DOES look good on ponies!

My gosh, those ponies are gonna be purdy! i can't wait for the zebra ponies!!
Thank you. I had no idea so many people were interested in the zebras! ^_^
They are looking great! *envies your mad painting skills* XD Can't wait to see them finished. Hope the wedding goes well.
Thanks! I'm hoping it doesn't rain during the wedding!
*looks up at the overcast skies*
Thank you! Many times, the finished product looks nothing like the works in progress...it is quite interesting to watch them evolve! ^_^
Sorry to sound like a parrot, but Morbid Delusions' hair is simply gorgous. I kinda saw it on Iridescent Nights first in my mind, but either way, it's going to look stunning.
Sidenote: doesn't it feel weird when all your friends start getting engaged and married? I so am not old enough for my friends to be getting married!
Awwww...thanks for the comment on Morbid Delusions' hair, even though you're not the only one to mention it. ^_^
Ugh, I feel ancient. *stretches rickety joints* This is going to be the 4th or 5th wedding I've been to this year & I just got an invitation to another one in December!
You know you're old when your friends are getting divorced, then RE-married, LOL! Thankfully, that isn't happening yet. ^_~
Ohhh they're looking good, I adore the hair on Chococherry Delite! Those colours work really well together. Much agreement with darker points on the pink Zebra, twould make them easier to notice.
Squeee! The hair n.n I'm glad the gradient is working so well. But my gosh, I don't envy you all that rehairing to do o.o;; be sure to take plenty of breaks!
Ohoh! Some quick customizing questions if you feel like answering them ^^;
I just started trying out customizing a few days/a week or so ago, so:
-How do you wash the ponies' hair when its on them without the paint bleeding? (this would be with a full body paint) I tried covering my pony in plastic wrap and tape, but somehow water still managed to get through and make the paint bleed a little into the tail.
-(this isn't really a question ^^; ) Painting eyelashes are so difficult @.o (I suppose I could make it a question) How do you go over the eyelid and keep the eyelash in one stroke? (Okay checking, this seems to be easier with G3s)
-What method do you usually use for painting under a pony (as in with a full body paint), do you just use a small brush? It still seems difficult when the legs are close together.
'Kay that's the end of my question time ^^;
Um, thanks. ^_^ I re-painted the pink Zebra today & she looks nicer...I'll post a pic on Sunday with the rest of the updates.
I like the pastel hair on Chococherry Delite too. I tried a bunch of different combinations before settling on this one.
I rarely re-hair more than an hour at a time. Thank you for your concern, though! ^_^
I don't wash my ponies' hair after painting them You shouldn't get a painted pony wet. If the hair needs any washing (such as after a dye job), I do it before re-rooting. If your pony accidentally gets wet, don't touch the paint. Leave it alone & it should dry without a problem. Touching the paint when it's wet will cause it to rub off.
One of the hardest things about customizing is painting those darn eyelashes! I keep a moist cotton swab handy if I make any mistakes. ^_^ It's a lot of practice & a light touch. Sometimes, I can make them look nice on one side, but not the other.
I paint the bodies in lots of light layers. I usually start with the hardest to paint areas (like the belly and inner legs). Then, I let it dry before putting another coat on. It's tempting to keep going. I usually use a medium sized brush, not a tiny one like the ones for symbols/eyes.
Ohh, now that is much easie rthan covering hte pony in tape and plastic wrap ^^; I mainly washed it because after rerooting the wire I used would leave a slight dent in the hair.
I never even thought of keeping something around to wipe the paint off with o.o; I'll be sure to keep something around now ^^
This would also be why I had problems ^^; I was trying to paint the whole pony except for under the feet (got kinda hard to hold onto it without getting painty)
Thanks for answering my question! :)
