The Midsummer Contest deadline is tomorrow. Here's an updated text list of the entries received as of Friday, June 9th, 2006 (you might need to re-load the page to see the update):

In other news...

The pony on the left is 1st gen pony with a sculpted gumball machine symbol. I found a piece of curved plastic that works just right as the "container". I still have to paint the symbol and fill in the "gumballs". The pony is going to have kanekalon or saran hair in primary colors. Haven't thought of a name for this one yet.

The pony on the right is going to be a gargoyle pony. I know it's not a new idea, but I thought it would work well with this sitting pose bait. Her wings were shaped from wire mesh and embedded firmly into the pony's body. It's also an experiment with Efa-plast, an air drying sculpting medium that is similar to Paperclay. I will be posting a product review once the pony is complete. It's an interesting alternative to Fimo and epoxy formulations. The pic on the right is just for fun...I was playing with a clay extruder. ^_^ The completed pony isn't going to have "hair", LOL!

Awww, I love both of them so far! I can't wait to see the gargolyle one completed. I may have to ask you for help when I get around to anchoring wings in a custom I'm working on. I'm always scared they'll wiggle around. >.

Re: wild wonders

Thanks for the comment. Hmmmm...perhaps I should write a tutorial on anchoring wings. I've tried several techniques - there are pros and cons to each one. I usually leave the ends on the inside really long & just twist them togther.
